  • Country side fresh cherries and berries (raspberries, strawberries, boysenberries, blackberries) picking! The farm is in Silvan. BYO containers, fruits average around $10/kg.   • Saturday, 05 Feb 2011, VIC, Melbourne – Bayside & South East, Prahran Opera in the Park is a free concert presented by the City of Stonnington, held in one of the municipality’s most beautiful parks – Victoria Gardens in Prahran – annually. It consists of two hours of popular excerpts from opera and musical theatre performed by professional opera singers, up and coming talent and an orchestra. Opera in the Park has become a very well established and much loved event over a number of years and is part of the Stonnington season of signature events. Featuring: – Merlyn Quaife – Soprano – Dimity Shepherd- Mezzo Soprano – James Egglestone – Tenor – Phillip Calcagno – Baritone Conductor: Trevor Jones Supported by the chorus from The Opera School Melbourne and accompanied by members of the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM). Artistic Director: Cameron Menzies Compere: Julie Houghton. picnic rug and something nice to eat and drink, sit back and listen to some free opera. The program is scheduled to start at 7.00, but get there earlier to get a nice spot.
  • Sunday, 09 Jan 2011, VIC, Melbourne – Bayside & South East, Prahran The City of Stonnington’s Jazz in the Gardens series has consistently attracted thousands of people during the past nine years. The stunningly talented Stonnington Gardens Jazz Showband, which boasts some of Melbourne’s finest players and is led by one of Australia’s greatest jazz pianists Bob Sedergreen, will be performing with special guests. Stonnington Gardens Jazz Showband: Bob Sedergreen – keyboard Jon Chidgey – electric bass Sonja Horbelt – drums Myles White – guitar Dave Palmer – trombone/vocals Mal Sedergreen – alto & soprano saxophone Bring a picnic rug and something nice to eat and drink, sit back and listen to some free jazz. The program starts at 6pm and runs until 8pm, Victoria Gardens is on High Street Prahran – in between Chapel Street and Williams Road
