Sun microsystems created a very useful program (virtual box) for the mac. It enables the mac to work as a windows machine. Lucky windows is so versatile, something a mac will hopefully be.

Since Mac’s are intel based nowadays, running windows in a virtual machine is not necessary. You can just use bootcamp to add a bootable windows partition and install any flavor of windows. The apple install disk has all the drivers required in a nice little installable.
I set up my work macbook quadruple booting into OS X Tiger, OS X Leopard, OS X Snow Leopard, and Windows XP, and my mac pro has Snow Leopard and Windows 7 64 bit installed. All native, all very snappy

The functionality of running windows within a mac is usefull, especially when a reboot is unacceptable.
I’m surprised you have fallen victim to the apple propaganda, however if you’ve gone to the “light” side,
be sure to pack your whipes…
